Yes, the Alvear Palace is iconic but we slightly prefer the Palladio because of a more welcome feeling. Something we missed at the Alvear Palace.

We walked by Alvear Palace yesterday and the street was dead quiet.  Don’t know if that has anything to do with the recent violence on tourists there.  Police presence was heavy on all side streets.

When we stayed there a few years ago for a wild wedding week , YES a week of wedding, there were many security people.

Pretty obvious guns in holsters.
