Long Day, What to Do

Hi our group with 2 kids ages 6 & 8 will be in Cozumel for 10 hours. Does anyone have any recommendations to do with kids? Also are you allow to metal detect there? Thanks

How old are the kids?  Families with toddlers are attracted to the kiddie water park at Playa Mia.  Older kids love the water toys at a number of beach clubs - paradise Beach, Mr. Sanchos, etc.  Chankanaab offers a nice beach, separate snorkeling area, small pool, sea lion and other shows, optionto swim with the dolphins ($$$) - adult admission is about $20 each.

 

If you are interested in history try one of the ship tours to the mainland to see the Mayan ruins.

For that age, I would second Chankanaab. There is also laser tag and zip lines for additional charge.

 

For a Mayan experience get a driver and try Pueblo de Maiz and finish off at one of the beach clubs. There is also a planetarium, but we haven’t tried that and you would need to check opening times.
