Wheelchair assist at Port of Maryland

Where is port of Marland? I've had wheelchair assist in Port Canaveral and Tampa. In both ports after you clear security, there's a line for special needs, or ask one of the workers and they will point the way. You tell them you need wheel chair assistance and someone will come get you. Depending on how many wheel chairs are available, it could be a short wait or long. Never waited long in Canaveral, but once last year in Tampa was a long time! Their explantion was they only had 3 chairs available because there were 2 ships in port and all the chairs were at the other ship! After that, since we were holding up our friends, decided to try to walk up. Fortunately we caught one about halfway up the ramp and they took us on up. You may have the same issue getting off. Once the lady told us we had to go to another waiting area to get assistance, and 4 chairs were right there! I just walked past her and asked if someone could take DH down in a chair, and they did! So after those experiences, I decided it was time for a mobility scooter. Been just fine ever since.

Enter the cruise port at the door to the left.  Sit in a regular chair, An employee will ask if you need wheelchair assist. Say YES.

After a short wait someone will push you through security.  Then you will be taken to a waiting area if boarding has no started yet.

Then that person or someone else will push you onto the ship.

There are wheelchair assistance both embarking and debarking from the Pride in Baltimore.  Just let the staff at the port know you will need assistance to embark. There will be information about where to meet on disembarkation day to have staff with wheelchairs who will take you all the way to the luggage area and to the exit of the terminal.  We have used it at that port.

Plus if you need a scooter while on board, you can make arrangements to rent one that will be delivered to your cabin for your use, but you cannot ride the scooter off the ship - it must be left at your cabin.

We were on the Jan 5th PRIDE sailing.  The ramp/gangway onto the ship was still out of order ( as it was two weeks later on return).  So we entered the ship at ground level( deck A ) just like a port. When the gangway is working you enter the ship in the atrium.    Elevators are just around the corner when you board.
