Suite or Adjoining Rooms

Our 3rd cruise is in Nov. on the Pride. This is becoming a once a year tradition - we love it! The problem is I have spoiled my family by booking a suite each time. On the advice of a friend I've booked adjoining rooms, #5122 & 5124. Now my DH is complaining because he loves the Skippers Club check in and the kids are complaining because they don't want to share a room together, (boy 16 and girl 13). I have checked out the available suites and they would be cheaper, but when I look at the deck plans it looks like the cat. 11 & 12 rooms look down on the life boats.

I hope someone will tell me I'm reading the deck plans wrong, because I'm living with 3 grumpy people who aren't very excited about this years "Family Tradition"

Thanks again to everyone on this site for all the help - I wouldn't plan a cruise without you!

I agree with Mr Pete: If you have to do suites.. the wrap around on the corners is the way to go. (if i was to book a suite these willbe the ones I would book.) not on deck 5 though- the cabin is just not as big as the rest of the deck.

But theses cabins go quickly.

But to answer your question 5122 and 24 do not look down on life boats. If looking at the deckplans you will see the cabins that look into lifeboats are in the striped cabins. On deck 5 of the deck plans you can see shadows of the lifeboats which are on deck 4. they are no where near your chose of cabins. ( iwonder what you are looking at that you see lifeboats under your cabins?

Your kids are complaining coz they have to share a cabin?? Do they want their own cabin?

Most kids get inside cabins when the parents have a balcony-- they should feel lucky.

I wasn't clear on my question. I was wondering if the suites on deck 6 look down on the lifeboats? I have booked the adjoining rooms on deck 5 and they look great, but husband wants a suite. We had a corner aft balcony on the Vision last year. I think this was what spoiled us! I haven't found an aft balcony on the Pride available yet...The one I was going to book, was maximum 3 pax :(. The other aft suites are booked.

Thanks

The suite cabins on deck 6 do indeed look down into lifeboats. Theya re two decks below you. you just will not be able to look straight down and see water. But the lifeboats do not obrstuct your visiion in least.

If looking online for availabilty of aft cabins you will not find them. By calling carnival to see if they are available is a good way to find them.

Even my aft on the destiny never showed up- even by plugging in the cabin # but when I called it was available.

On Carnival ships, the suites are 1 room. they do not have a seperate bedroom, so your kids will be sharing a room regardless of whether you get a suite or adjoining balconies. Unless you mean they don't want to share a room with each other if you aren't in the same room. Also, with two rooms, you get two bathrooms.

The Pride has suites located in two areas. 1) between the forward and middle elevators on deck six. These are above the lifeboats. However, you would have to stand at the rail and look down straight down to see the lifeboats. 2) aft of decks four through eight. You cannot see the lifeboats from these cabins. However, none of the aft corner cabins (with the wrap around balcony) will sleep more than two people. Only two of these have "connecting" balcony cabins (4228 & 4237). The balconies do have dividers that can open. So you could book 6260 & 6262 for example and open the balcony divider. Then the cabins would "connect" via the balconies.

Nonetheless, all of the suites are single rooms (for sleeping) and you son and daughter will still be sharing a room, not only with each other, but with their parents also.

Not true. 7298, 8268 and 8273 have a single convertible sofa for a third person.

It is not showing up on the deck plans (see link below) nor is it showing up on the deck plans in the brochures I have at home ...

I was on the Sensation in the owners Suite and had a seperate bedroom.

The Sensation does not have an owners suite. The suites on the Upper Deck are penthouse suites (cat 12 - see link below) and the suites on the Verandah Deck are just suites (cat 11 - see link below). These all have one room where people sleep. They do not have two bedrooms. So either the son and daughter share one room to sleep, or the son and daugher share one room to sleep with Mom & Dad.

I assure you that The Sensation does have an "Owners Suite" as do all of the Fantasy class ships. You will not find it on ANY deck plans as they are truely the Owners Suites. Available to Bob D. and Mickey A. for their personel use. If you have ever been on a Fantasy Class ship then you have noticed the Floor to Ceiling dark glass windows that overlook the pool. They are Penthouse 1 and 2.

You need to go directly to the source, www.carnival.com. Here are the two deck plans showing the sofa bed in the cabins I listed.

Well, if there is a hidden suite on this ship, I was not aware of it. How does one go about booking a suite that does not show up on the deck plans?

Well, I was looking at a Carnival brochure, sent to me by Carnival, so I thought I was looking at the source.

Don't feel bad, I didn't know about them either. I was settleing a very involved "problem" with the Executive offices some years back and it was offered to me.

Having said that I do know that if the Owners have no plans for them on any given sailing you can book them with your PVP <Just make sure they know what their doing. I have heard its very pricey though, Cat 12 pricing +500-1000/pp. They are approx. 1200 sq ft + Deck

Absolutely Royal treatment!

They stopped making them after Fantasy because its not cost effective when you consider how many regular cabins can fit into that size.

This is why I love this site - So much information and opinions!

Great pictures Poolgal. Always fun to see where the owners (etc.) stay.

Thanks to everyone who responded. I'm staying with the adjoining rooms. I wasn't thinking of all the benefits - WOW, two bathrooms, two tv's , two desks for doing homework, privacy for Mom & Dad ... this is going to be a great cruise. :D

There are several older threads addressing the Owner's Suites. They are only on Fantasy class ships - but they are not on ALL of those, they stopped somewhere mid-way through the Fantasy class line. I was quoted something like $1700 pp for a 4 day cruise on the Sensation. NO THANKS... that would easily cover a 7-8 day cruise in our favorite cabin (Spirit Class 4228/4237 - seperate bedroom), with change left over!!!
