mbr_33 Posted January 25, 2020 #1 Share Posted January 25, 2020 For those of you who have gone on half-day or full-day private tours in Greece, what did you give your tour guides as far as a gratuity? A percentage of the cost of the tour? A flat amount?
chipmaster Posted February 1, 2020 #2 Share Posted February 1, 2020 Surprised no one chimed in, mood/quality always effect my generosity, but I've always given 10-20 USD/person.
e050377 Posted February 1, 2020 #3 Share Posted February 1, 2020 I tend to stick with 10% of the tour cost. At least that is what I tipped Rome in Limo last year. He seemed very excited by that, so maybe that is more than usual.
Rare cruisemom42 Posted February 2, 2020 #4 Share Posted February 2, 2020 Tipping is not as common or expected in many parts of Europe as in the US. There is no real expectation to give a certain percentage. For some perspective, I suggest reading the thread below. Yes, it's Italy, but the tipping culture in Greece is similar.
