Hi, looking for info on Amber Cove.  Is this a port like Grand Turk, where you can just walk off the ship and stroll to a beach area and shopping areas?  Is it necessary to take a tour or cab to go farther afield to have a good day here?

Yes, it is similar to Grand Turk, but there is no beach. There is, however a large pool area, zip line, bars, and shops. If you want to go further afield you will need to do a tour, hire a private guide, or walk out past the gates to a taxi. To have a good day really depends on what you want to do. lounge by a nice pool and the ocean, sipping drinks? No need to leave. But if you want more activities or culture, then you will need a guide or taxi.
