complawyer Posted February 21, 2020 #1 Share Posted February 21, 2020 is anyone aware of any current civil unrest in santiago. We were booked into the Crowne Plaza, and they canceled by reservation and advised they will be closed until june. Although they rebooked me into one of their other properties, my wife is a little worried about what happens when we get there. we're not planning on cancelling the cruise, but i'd like to know if i should come heavily armed. Jolynn2262 Posted February 21, 2020 #3 Share Posted February 21, 2020 You can register for the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program at https://step.state.gov/step/ and get current notifications. You can find info on Santiago here. https://www.osac.gov/Content/Browse/Report When you register, the state department knows you are there which can come in very handy if say you want them to know you are in Japan on a quarantine cruise ship or there is dangerous civil unrest and they want to evacuate American citizens.
