And if I do not get the insurance and something does happen that I have to postpone the cruise, do you get any money back or towards another sailing?

Yes; the amount depending on when you cancel your booking.

From the Princess web site....

Christmas, New Year's------Non-Holiday Sailings-----Cancellation Fee

and 20+ day Sailings-------up to 20 days

90 days or more------------75 days or more---------None

89-64 days----------------74-57 days--------------Brochure Deposit Amounts

63-43 days----------------56-29 days--------------50% of Total Charges

42-22 days----------------28-15 days--------------75% of Total Charges

within 21 days-------------within 14 days-----------100% of Total Charges

Boy, is CC ever finicky with formatting. Sorry for the clumbsy display of data.

I have no beef with Princess insurance on the Trip Cancellation or anything like that.

The one area I don't like is the health section you have to pay up front.......imagine having to find thousand and thousand of dollars for an EM flite and all the hospital expences in a foreign country ...if something happened.....then takes weeks to claim back.

When I asked the Princess insurance gal about this they told me I should contact my Insurance Company about that?I thought they were my Travel Insurance Company? Anyway I am OK now insured twice for my month long trip Princess, and my usual Insurance Company which guarantee an upfront payment for these kind of events. Not that anything will happen but.......
