Cancellations...

Just a few weeks ago, right before all this CoronaVirus panic, our last week of March Tulip time river cruise ship thru the Nederlands & Belgium, our family already booked 3 cabins, & was looking for a few more as more family members wanted to join us.  It was totally booked, no more cabins avail.

Just looked thru a dummy booking today, & it now has 19 cabins avail, do looks like lots of cancellations.

Here's the numbers of cabins avail in each category:

3  E

3  D

5  C

3  B

7  A

1  Suite

With so many higher category cabins avail now, I've just called the cruise company to see about possible upgrade to a higher category at a reduced cost.  They said No.  Have to pay full upgrade price.  Seems silly on their part since they're probably hemorrhaging cash flow now from so many cancellations, so maybe a lower upgrade cost to at least make extra $2000, instead of full price $4000, rather than nothing for the unused empty cabins.   And maybe improve/keep customer loyalty at the same time....
