Will self-serve be gone from the buffet due to virus experience?

Recommended Posts

Our cruise on Vision ended on March 13 while the virus was just ramping up in the US, but RC had increased their sanitary protocol. The WJ was self-serve the entire cruise. I'm going to guess there will be no long term change... but that's a guess.

Less waste and waist if they serve and limit portion size by serving the food as opposed to pile a mile high by the passenger.

I know there was a negative comment earlier on about NCL, but I have found that on all ships since Epic have had the high quality areas of the buffet with items that are already plated and portioned.

I only eat breakfast in the buffets on occasion, but I could just walk right up and take a plated Eggs Benedict. Then a plated "gravlax " along with a plated fresh fruit cup or plate.

Solarium Cafe and Park Cafe do this to some extent on some ships at breakfast and lunch.
