mpkiddylad Posted April 26, 2020 #1 Share Posted April 26, 2020 Hello We are travelling from the UK to Miami for our cruise with NCL on the breakaway next April. We are experienced cruisers with NCL but this cruise will be the first time with a 8 month old baby. A couple Of questions - - How do people get to and from the airport with a baby that requires a car seat?! Any tips?! - Any tips in general for having a 8 Month old on the NCL cruise and in particular the BREAKAWAY. Many thanks Matt
Rare rjm11 Posted April 26, 2020 #2 Share Posted April 26, 2020 (edited) You will want a car seat for your flight as well, as it's the safest way to travel with babies. We liked the convertible car seat/strollers like the Lilly Gold Sit n Stroll- they convert from a car seat (that is FAA approved as well) to a stroller with wheels really easily. They are not cheap, but worth it, and you can easily resell them once your children are grown- they hold their value. That way you have car seats for the flight, airport transfers, shore excursions, and a stroller. Edited April 26, 2020 by rjm11
Rare ColeThornton Posted April 26, 2020 #3 Share Posted April 26, 2020 Matt, I would also post this on the Family Cruising forum. Lots of good info for you to peruse. gymbomb Posted April 26, 2020 #4 Share Posted April 26, 2020 Take your car seat with you, and preferably buy baby a seat on the plane and use it there too. 8 months is a great age to cruise! I've cruised with my son at 10 months and my daughter at 9 months. So much easier then than when they are 2-3! Take a small stroller, and take a carrier to wear baby. We used both a LOT. Sauer-kraut Posted April 26, 2020 #5 Share Posted April 26, 2020 Don't bring a huge push chair!! Find a cheapo umbrella stroller because they will fit down the corridors more easily. That way you can bring baby to the dining room and it can sleep in the push chair while you have a nice dinner. Also try to keep naptime regular, you might have to make some adjustments from when you were cruising as a couple. Have fun cruising!!
