Help!! taxi to Plantation from FLL?

Our Extended Stay downtown was overbooked and they have bumped us to their property in Plantation. How much is the taxi fare going to be from the airport and then back to the port? I really am concerned that the taxi fare is going to be killer! It may be better to bite the bullet and take a beach 3 star from Hotwire for $149 and save taxi fare vs. this ExSty for $99.99. It's this Friday. What should I do?

Plantation is a ways from Port Everglades. I would get something on the beach just for a more pleasant stay. Plantation is a ways inland.

The Extended Stay Plantation is 15 minutes from the port. A 3 star beach hotel from Hotwire may be equal distance or even further away (ie, Holiday Inn on Sunrise & A1A). Skip the taxi, call either Tri County http://www.floridalimo.com/Pages/private.html or Larrys Limo http://larryslimo.com/ and reserve a sedan for the ride to the port.

A year ago we used Priceline and stayed at the Sheraton in Plantation I believe. We used the hotel shuttle from the airport to the hotel and back to the airport and then got a taxis from the airport to the port.
