Nhfd155 Posted May 2, 2020 #1 Share Posted May 2, 2020 We’ll be on Royal Caribbean’s oasis next summer. We arrive to st Thomas at 330pm and we are there until 1030pm. Any suggestions on excursions? We have two families, nine in total, ages 5 to 44. Thanks in advance.
beautifulbill Posted May 6, 2020 #2 Share Posted May 6, 2020 The sun sets early, usually around 6 so you won’t have much daylight time to see things. There will be safari busses where you disembark that can take you on a brief tour. The shops in town usually close around 6 but some will stay open later if there are ships in port. TTEllis Posted May 11, 2020 #3 Share Posted May 11, 2020 Royal Caribbean you are porting at Crown Bay, I would catch a safari van to downtown Charlotte Amalie, sightsee and do some shopping, that late in the afternoon I wouldn't spend the time or $$$ on going to a beach. Walking downtown lots of fun back in the day it was always a big party, it is when I'm there anyway. Go have fun. Todd
crossfitmama Posted May 11, 2020 #4 Share Posted May 11, 2020 You can do a 1/2 day catamaran trip https://stthomascruiseexcursions.com/excursions/st-thomas-catamaran-tour/ We did the full day trip on this and its gorgeous. I think they offer a sunset trip too and catamarans super stable so great for kids
O2B@Cagain Posted May 11, 2020 #5 Share Posted May 11, 2020 Another idea is to go to a beach- Lindbergh or Honeymoon on Water Island are the closest- and then get a ride to Havensight. Take the skyride to Paradise Point have some drinks and enjoy the sunset and view.
seekingparadise Posted May 12, 2020 #6 Share Posted May 12, 2020 Forget Water Island. No services now. Zero. Zip. Nada. No bar, no restaurant, no rest rooms!
O2B@Cagain Posted May 15, 2020 #7 Share Posted May 15, 2020 I was reading this post as for next summer, 2021. Not only are there no services on Water Island currently, there are no cruise ships either. LOL
karen&roy Posted May 16, 2020 #8 Share Posted May 16, 2020 (edited) I would take a taxi to gorgeous sapphire Beach and sit at the new bar, have some great food and cocktails and take a dip in the water there. They are open until 8pm on weekdays..later on weekends with music . Kids can play on the beach and also there is an area for families to sit Edited May 16, 2020 by karen&roy

You don't happen to have any idea what the taxi fare roughly is from Havensight to Sapphire Beach roundtrip do you? New Bar? That's great!! I was at Sapphire about 10 years ago not much there but the beach and water were great. Did Secret Harbour last time on STT, headed to either Sapphire or back to Trunk this time. Thank you for any info you could provide. Todd
MBMGWM Posted August 29, 2020 #10 Share Posted August 29, 2020 If you enjoy sailing, one of the nice things about having your ship stay later in the evening is the ability to do a sunset cruise. It is such a relaxing way to spend a couple of hours.
