Is that company required to remunerate the cost of the cruise, if the cruise line goes bankrupt

Generally, no, not if you purchased the cruise directly from the cruise line. There are some additional caveats about booking through a recognized travel agent, where you are protected somewhat from financial failure. Read this blog post at trip insurance store.
