Question: Casino Cruise Fare TOS

Hello, Everyone!

 

I have a question for those who book Carnival Casino Rates regarding the terms of service. I recently qualified for these reduced rates and cannot find any "fine print" to figure this out for myself. Does price protection apply to the casino rates? or is that just a perk for Early Saver Rates? 

 

If anyone knows the answer, I would appreciate the info.  Or if anyone has a link to the TOS for Casino Fares,  I will appreciate that, too.  Since I only cruise solo on Carnival, I usually book Early Saver because of the price protection (which has saved me some $$ several times), but will consider booking the cheaper Casino Rates if there is price protection included with those fares just in case a better casino rate (or other promotion) comes along.

Yes price protection does apply to the Casino rate. You just have to call verses using the form. They will transfer you to the casino dept who will then reduce your cruise rate.

If you do a mock booking up to the point of selecting the casino rate, you will find the fine print.  I have a PVP who takes care of rate drops on casino rates for me.

Nice service they are providing. I will have to check about getting a PVP as i just do all my bookings myself online.

The casino rates are so low I can never find a cheaper rate. So I don't worry about it. I just hope my math skills and card counting abilities are up to snuff and I can walk off with a few dollars. It has happened a couple of times.

We are booked under a casino rate for October.  It included a $500 OBC.  We got two price drops before the rate expired.  I did have to go thru the casino dept but it was super easy.  We stopped checking for price drops because any price match we found later would have to include the $500 OBC or we would lose that.

Our casino offers are always freebies, so we don't look for rate drops, but when we get a better casino offer (like a room upgrade or more free play), they always let us move our booking to the better offer.

That's true with any rate drop. My cruise in oct just happens to be early saver with a bonus $100. So I'm before final payment. There have been cheaper rates but I'd have to give up the $100 obc. No thanks. Price would have to drop over $100 to be worth it.

 

The obc given when you book is always considered part of the rate.

Thanks, Everyone!   Sorry to be so late acknowledging your responses.  I don't use my main email address for this forum, and when there were no responses after 3 or 4 days, I kinda forgot about checking it again.  Sorry.

 

Anyway, I read the TOS in the pop-up for the casino rate I booked, which seemed like an abbreviated version, and price protection was not addressed.  In the more detailed legaleze page I later found, detailed Casino Rate terms were not addressed nor could I find anything on the Carnival Player's Club site.  An email to CS went unanswered, which I fully understand at this point in time with the pandemic.  I had read a thread from 2017 that stated Carnival's casino rates were price protected, but could not find anything current.  Hence, I asked the experts here.

 

I doubt these prices I booked will get any better (lowest prices for me that I've seen in my entire Carnival cruising history), but just in case. . .there's always hope for saving some more $$.  ☺️

 

Again, thank you all for your input.  I think the only regret I have is that by booking casino rates, I apparently lost my long-time PVP, since I was told twice recently that I had to talk to the Casino folks to transfer my cancelled cruise FCC and OBC to other  cruises.
