Well I had the misfortune of having to book one with a TA for a group cruise with about 20 other family members, we were promised the best rates and even a discount for booking more than 10 cabins, sounds great right? No the rate given to us ended up being more than the website rate, it was like pulling teeth to get cruise docs and any info from said TA, forget about price drops... I was fortunate to be able transfer my reservation from the TA to the cruise line directly so I could take advantage of the price drops and OBC promos. The TA swore we were not paying extra for her fees yet my documents clearly had a commission fee hidden in them. Yes I may have had a bad experience but I enjoy booking my own trips and dealing directly with the cruise lines, hell I probably get more OBC and casino cash directly from them then what you get from your TA... again I'm not saying all TA's or PVP's are bad but at the end of the day if there is a mistake on my trip I know I wasn't relying on someone else to catch it for me
