Thanks Teedee,

I also think there is a limit on what you can withdrawal through the casino. We were hoping not to bother getting the travelers checks but I guess we might have to.

one week tomorrow & counting....

The limit on cash from the casino is $2,000 per day.

And it is sent in with everything else that you buy as a purchase on your credit card. Therefore if you use a credit card with incentives ie:miles, you will pick the miles up for cash taken from the casino.

We are on the Century very soon, can anyone tell me if we can cash a personnal check onboard? Is there a limit? or is there any benefit to getting travelers checks?

thanks for you help.

Peggy

On RCCL they let you cash a check for $200. Not sure if the policy is the same for X. But I woud think they would have the same policy.

Traveler's checks are so simple and easy to use anywhere. If a member of AAA, the checks are free. Also some types of bank accts (I think larger accts) tc are complimentary, but still reasonable for anyone.

My wife went to our Wells Fargo Bank here in So Calif the other day and the head cashier advised against them, saying people were cashing them in back at the Bank because they would have been charged 40 to 50% to cash one. Appaently there are counterfeit TCs out there and onshore vendors are leery of accepting them. Leaving the 12th on the Summit for the Panama Canal so we ended up in cash and using our onboard account to draw against...Harvey:)

In 50 years of travel, I've never had anyone charge a fee for accepting a travelers check. The only time there was a problem was last Oct in Merida, Mx and the hotel wouldn't accept TC for the bill. I carry cash and TCs.
