“and I truly believe - whatever bureaucrats do or don't do  - that masks, social distancing, reducing indoor dining, etc. etc. are unfortunately still needed at this time.”

Squawkman,

What you wrote is irrefutable science. The countries that have followed these necessary procedures have seen a decline in hospitalizations and deaths. The sad fact is we may reach herd immunity in the US this year, but the rest of the world is way behind the US in vaccinations. Some have not even begun. Thus a further delay in cruises. Very frustrating.

This is a world pandemic so many poorer countries will need help from the US, UK etc to vaccinate their populations. The Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine is being sold on a non-profit basis, $3 per shot. Hopefully we will see limited cruising in 2021 but I suspect it will be a lot longer before cruising improves significantly.

Worldwide vaccinations are at 2.25%. There is so much pain ahead for humanity. I dream of hugging my grandkids and children and being able to cruise. But my nightmare is the effect COVID is having on the underdeveloped world. But if we can develop multiple vaccines in record time, there is the brainpower to turn this around worldwide.
