I travel with the blessing of my wonderful doctors and have my checkups religiously. I can not imagine anything to do with my cancer coming up during my travels or cruises that would be so urgent that I could not get home from wherever I am. Good advice. If your specialist says you are safe to travel, go, even if not covered by travel insurance. I would feel comfortable cruising around Australia or NZ without insurance coverage for a specific issue. We eventually found travel insurance to cover my MIL's trip to USA, when she was in her mid 80s, except for one issue. We didn't check what it excluded because she was going on her first overseas trip anyway with one of her sons. She is still going strong at 99!
kate59 Posted February 28, 2021 #52 Share Posted February 28, 2021 Barry sorry to hear, I have recently been through this also and had thought about it as I have 3 cruises already booked - I need something to look forward to enjoying. We had many months of upset however other than a few minor side effects I am mostly ok. I hope you get through this together and will again soon be able to cruise. Covid was actually a good thing for us as I would have had to cancel 80 days of overseas travel, instead I got most of our money back or credits because of Covid. And even fought the Travel Insurance company to get my Annual Travel Insurance Premium refunded - took a few months but they where not getting to keep it. Wishing you both the very best.
