tring Posted May 16, 2021 #2 Share Posted May 16, 2021 (edited) Not been to Monaco, but we were on a Canada cruise a few years ago which went up the St. Lawrence and there were trips to the Grand Prix. One was for the practise day (which was the day before) and one for the big day. We had spoken to people who went and they were very happy with it - seemed very excited when they returned, especially as Lewis Hamilton won. Prices were high - very high. Cannot remember what they were but along the lines of a couple of hundred pounds pp, possibly more. Perhaps best to ask Fred, but presumably there would be entrance charges before you start making it into an excursion and I think the tickets were for a good location, though again, not sure. Having said that, if you are going on the cruise, I suspect an excursion would be the way to do it. Edited May 16, 2021 by tring
Britboys Posted May 16, 2021 #3 Share Posted May 16, 2021 6 hours ago, warrington said: With regards to the general experience on board, it partly depends on how long you have been cruising and on which ships. Fred is a pretty traditional-style cruise line and if they continue with some of their activities (dolphin racing comes to mind) feel rather old-fashioned. If you have sailed on P&O's smallest ships, the experience will be nearer to those - and possibly Cunard, but less formal. Because of the size of the ships, service tends to be friendlier and more personal. Bolette is probably a good choice as she is new to the Fred fleet and is being extensively refurbished at present. If your experience is largely on the bigger P&O/Princess ships, you could well miss the options/choices that are available on them. Feel free to ask any specific questions. Tring is particularly knowledgeable on Fred and is very helpful.
warrington Posted May 18, 2021 Author #4 Share Posted May 18, 2021 Many thanks for the replies and information. I think we will wait until they announce excursion details before making a final decision.
