Booking through RCI versus a Travel Agent/Cruise Planner?

Thanks.

While in many cases travel agents can see more rooms available than what you can see on Royals website those rooms are available to book with Royal...you just need to call.

if you are only seeing a couple of rooms on Royal’s site then travel agents won’t see any more.  It is only when Royal is showing a lot of rooms that a TA may see more because in some cases Royal has a maximum number of rooms that they show.

Maybe, the RCI may not show all rooms available on their web site - sometimes you have to search in a certain way.

Yes, if they have group space blocked.  Their price may be lower as well.

I have always booked through the Cruise Line Company that I was sailing with.

But, I just booked a RCI cruise through a Agent and got the same price, but got more peaks.

I was seeing the same rooms as the Agent.

Unless they are named and deposited  bookings all that groups hold is space and not actual cabins.

They can also allocate staterooms for 30 days without name or deposit.

Yes, however that's only usually done when you have a known confirmed  group (i.e. a wedding party or something similar) and those rooms once allocated rarely make it back into inventory.

Yes that was my point.  I’ve worked groups as a TA and cruise line rep.  I understand what can and cannot be done.
