Fountains in the in hotel lobby and walkways. I haven’t seen anyone swimming inthem. But my thought was it would be a great spot for a swim up bar and swimout rooms

Man that was disappointing. No climbing the big temple anymore. One guy told me it was

due to COVID. The guy on the way out told me they stopped it 5 years ago. I don’t know what the truth is on it.

80 pesos for a ticket. There are a bunch of tour guides wanting you to hire them. At this point it’s 11:30 and I heard there’s a 1pm bus and a 3pm bus so I want to try for 1pm.

I did not realize how big this is. The entire thing was 70kms. 55k Mayans lived in the area. The area we’re looking it is a KM or two.

This is the first grouping

The first grouping includes the second tallest temple in Coba

They have bicycle rentals and petty cab drivers at the front. Now I know why.

This is when I realized I was in deep doo doo and there’s no way I’m making the 1pm bus.

I decided to go left and hope it takes me to the main temple. 
 

There’s actually a lady behind the trees conducting a extensive photo shoot. It turns out I’ll by by this two more times and one of the workers will tell me this is the palace where the king lived.

They had a place for drinks

Next I came upon the main temple and extreme disappointment to find it roped off.

I don’t think this is really higher than the 

High Temple. Someone has bad numbers or I just got the heights mixed up.

When I got back to the fork in the road where you could go left or straight I had a petty cab driver offer to drive me to the last two sets and back out for $5. I said let’s go.

Before i got to the petty cab driver I was able

to the the one where the lady was posing without having to angle it so she’d be Behind a tree.

So now we’re going to the 1km one then hitting the 200m one on the way back.

We came to a part he said was the actual Mayan highway. I took a 30 sec video there.

 

I later heard a lady say her guide said they called it the white highway. they traveled at night and the moon would light up the road.
