Drinks and More Package / Elevate Upgrade

Hello, everybody, we just booked our second Celebrity cruise for October of 2022 aboard the Infinity.  Tips and basic drink package were included in our fare.  My sister and my friends have added the elevation upgrade for 540 dollars, for two, which includes the upgrade to the premium drinks, 300 in obc, and streaming wifi.  We were considering doing the same until I saw the Drinks and More package on Celeb's website.  For 378, for two, we get the upgrade, two bottles of wine, 50 dollars in free play in the casino, a wine tasting, and a mini bar in our stateroom, replenished once a day.

For anyone with experience with these two upgrades, your comments and suggestions are welcome and appreciated.

Cheers.

Well, for $162 your sister & her friend are getting streaming wifi plus $300 OBC that you aren't getting.

Deduct your $50 casino credit & $29 wine tasting each...that gives their OBC a value of $142.

**NOW--I think you have their package wrong.

Elevate does NOT include streaming wifi.

Indulge does at twice the price. (does include $600OBC)

Guessing you are on a 9 day cruise based on your numbers.

So based on the no streaming wifi Indulge does seem like a better deal still.

$142 OBC is better than 2 bottles of wine you don't get to choose...is a mini-bar stock worth that?

You are correct, streaming wifi is not included, I will have to let my sister know this, she was mistaken.

I will have no need for streaming wifi, so this would not factor into our decision.

Yes, it is a nine day cruise.   So, we would get the premium package upgrade regardless, goes for 216 for two.  Take that off the 378 for the Drinks and More, plus the 50 in casino play, and we are down to 112.  We would have to think about if the two bottles of wine, the wine tasting, and the mini bar are worth this amount.

Thanks for your input.

I have inquired about Drinks & More also.

The word is you likely get a red & a chardonnay--nothing special.

I've heard Tito's bottles (so sounds like classic level liquor), coke/diet coke, waters.

Wine tasting--some said it was good, others said underwhelming.

I go back & forth daily but starting to lean against it.

I have noticed that on average, the elevate package actually costs more that the cost of the individual upgrade (drink package) and the OBC. Do the math before you buy.

I did the math.

Elevate $30pp/day

So $60x7 nights=$420.

Gets you $300 OBC

Upgrade to premium is at least $150 for 2.

Saves you $30 if you are going to upgrade anyway & will use the OBC.

But as with most, not MUCH of a savings.

I noticed on the latest Elevate package that it's not OBC, it is Shore Excursion credit only. Drink package upgrade is $10 plus 20% or $12.00. If you are elite or higher the drink upgrade is $10.80 per day, per person.

I have heard multiple times it is just an OBC, tho cannot personally confirm.

Yep at 10% off it is $151.20 for 2.

If I do the math, your cruise is 9 days so the elevate package would be $540 or $270 per person.

Drink upgrade is $12 per day or $108 per person and you each get $150 in OBC, that is $258 per person total value. You are going to pay $270 to bundle that with the cruise add on, or a loss of $12 per person.

If you are Elite or above, the drink upgrade is only 97.20 so you are losing $22.80 per person.

The OBC you get with the Elevate package is not limited to shorex, it can be used for anything you can use OBC for. I confirmed that with Celebrity. It will show up in your Cruise Planner as OBC, period. We recently used some of ours to buy a specialty dining package.

That's good to know information... I just did a mock booking and Elevate says "$150 PP to spend on Shore Excursions"  and Indulge says "$150 PP to spend on Shore Excursions or Onboard"..
