Hi we are on a short Saga Cruise in September , can anyone explain the procedure when Checking in.

We understand there will be a Covid  test and Health questions, do we need passports and other form of identification ?

we only have one mobile phone between us , is that ok ?

just trying to be prepared before we arrive in the cruise terminal .

Any advice would be welcome having not been on a cruise for 18 months.

We sailed from Tilbury on August 15th and procedure was :

Saga driver went to a car park where drive through Rapid Covid Test was done by 2 medical staff. You stay in car and just wind windows down.
You are then handed your test kit and driver moves to another part of car park for a 15 minute wait.

Medical staff then come and expect your Covid test reading and if clear driver leaves car park and takes you to Cruise Terminal

Porters take your cases and you enter terminal for checking in.There was no queue when we went.It is at check in the passports and proof of vaccination are looked at.We had a paper copy from NHS as proof of vaccinations so don’t know about your query re one phone.

Thinking back no one asked for proof of travel insurance but I had copy of cover if needed.

It was then straight on board, with a steward taking us to our cabin.

Of course masks have to worn from leaving home to arrival in cabin except to lower for Covid test

Out of curiosity, was the test just a nasal swab like P+O are doing at Southampton?

(my wife can't tolerate the throat swabs due to having an extreme gag reflex)
