The trouble is, in most cases they aren't really rules, just recommendations. Leaving everyone to do whatever they want.

Hopefully those recommendations turn into hard fast rules; otherwise, our return to Cruising will be short lived.

Casino rates I'm guessing?  They seem to be really targeting the gamblers, presumably on the assumption they'll still make a good profit on them in the end.  I'm not seeing anything like that on the website.

Yes.  I do play the slots on each cruise, but only spend a maximum of $200.  These are the best rates I have ever seen.  So far, they are for September and early October.  If they extend them to the end of October, I may take the plunge.

Thanks for the input, everyone. I especially appreciate the responses from those with actual experience cruising in the last 3 weeks, which was the original request. This thread is an interesting study in the assumptions people make about each other based on simply asking a question, even when no indication of their position is given. Food for thought.

Can you show all of us and the kids at home where the constitution forbids masking?

I should have put my post in quotes. Those are things I always hear people say. I was not insinuating that what I posted was factual. Hence the sad part

I was on the 8/21 sailing of the Carnival Vista and saw the mask requirement being enforced entering both the liquid and the limelight lounges.  Most people wore masks indoors.  It only annoyed me when people didn't on the elevators --- such a small space and that's a required area.

Seemed like about 95% compliance on Vista.  There were always a few with them down or half-on, but it was much better than I expected.  Crew for sure would sometimes give a gentle reminder to those who needed one, but they aren't gonna hound everyone all the time.

Just got off Vista yesterday.  Masking enforced in dining room until seated,  high traffic elevators (Lido deck) normally had crew reminding to put on mask.  Also enforcing for comedy club and main theatre (Limelight and Liquid Lounge).  Few people wearing in bars as they had drink in hand so hard to enforce.  I felt for the most part masks were being worn as required.
