The last time in Amber Cove had an all inclusive day at a resort with HAL. Very nice, large complex. Looks like HAL not currently offering. Anyone have idea where this was? Any other suggestions for a nice all inclusive day pass. Thanks

You might be referring to the excursion that was called (by Carnival) "Private Villa All-Inclusive."  We did that one several years ago for $100/pp and were quite pleased with it, even at that price.

The excursion was actually held at Lifestyle Resort, which is about ten minutes away from Amber Cove on the way to Puerta Plata.  (Nice air-conditioned bus ride.)   It's a time-share resort normally and at one time it seems (per CruiseCritic) that cruisers were being "strongly encouraged" to buy a timeshare there, but peoples' complaints must've been heard and WE were not hassled.  It included a really nice barbecue lunch (steak, kebobs, fish, chicken, etc.), snacks, and a full bar with mid- and top-shelf liquors, a nice pool and  hot-tub.  They use different villas based on how many people book the excursion; ours had six bedrooms as we had 11 people and they assume people are attending as couples.  (One of the couples disappeared for quite a while in theirs. 🙂 )

Unfortunately the "Private Villa" isn't being offered on our upcoming sailing on Mardi Gras -- we'd have done it again -- and while there are other excursions that are going to Lifestyle Resort, many of them have so-so reviews.  😞
