Earthworm Jim Posted September 16, 2021 #4 Share Posted September 16, 2021 (edited) That's just a list of all Walgreens. They don't all do all types of testing. When I did a "mock booking" for a Covid test using Long Beach as a search area for one of the two rapid tests (ID-NOW or antigen), this is what I got: Location and availability 1 16201 HARBOR BLVD Fountain Valley, CA 92708 No appointments available 2 2491 W 24TH ST Yuma, AZ 85364 Some appointments available 3 2360 HIGHWAY 95 Bullhead City, AZ 86442 Some appointments available 4 25 LAKE HAVASU AVE S Lake Havasu City, AZ 86403 Some appointments available 5 11420 S FORTUNA RD Yuma, AZ 85367 Many appointments available So basically one location in Fountain Valley, CA and then nothing else in California if you need a rapid test. However, if the slower PCR test would work for your purposes you have more options: Location and availability 1 600 LONG BEACH BLVD Long Beach, CA 90802 Few appointments available 2 3339 E ANAHEIM ST Long Beach, CA 90804 Some appointments available 3 2627 PACIFIC AVE Long Beach, CA 90806 Some appointments available 4 3570 ATLANTIC AVE Long Beach, CA 90807 Some appointments available 5 24930 WESTERN AVE Harbor City, CA 90710 Few appointments available 6 5913 CARSON ST Lakewood, CA 90713 Few appointments available 7 22930 S WESTERN AVE Torrance, CA 90501 Few appointments available 8 2690 PACIFIC COAST HWY Torrance, CA 90505 Few appointments available 9 5829 LAKEWOOD BLVD Lakewood, CA 90712 Some appointments available 10 4935 WARNER AVE Huntington Beach, CA 92649 Some appointments available It looks like they are in order of closest to farthest. Just Google Walgreens Covid testing and play around with the testing booking engine (you'll have to answer some questions and might want to put in fake info just to look at it) and see for yourself. LetsSail Posted September 17, 2021 #5 Share Posted September 17, 2021 (edited) I believe Carnival has set up a program with Quest Labs. I read somewhere that they are working with Quest Labs to provide a place for testing. Article said prior to date of cruise you will receive an E-Mail with a link for Quest Labs that will provide a address for testing. My wife and I recently got a test through Quest labs (we had some symptoms). I've use them before for lab tests. I would suggest you go on their site and create an account. Very easy to do and this must be done prior to receiving any tests. Just a note. I believe any test that Carnival will use must be tests that are done by medical staff and not done be yourself in a home test. I believe I read that you can purchase home test but it must administered by medical staff. When we got our tests we had some symptoms, so Quest directed us to go to a Walmart Drive- thru pharmacy where test were done by us in the car. Pharmacist instructed us in procedure, as he was behind glass. When we got test result (neg) it said self administered, which I don't think Carnival would accept. I believe that if I told Quest I had no symptoms and just needed test for cruise, I would have gone in and test results would have said , done by medical staff. When I tested with symptoms, our insurance paid for, but I doubt this would be acceptable for a Carnival as, it was self administered. So, id make sure where ever you get the test it is administered by medical staff wherever you get the test. I assume pharmacies would be ok if administered by their staff (not by drive thru procedure, where you do test with guidance). Thorswife59 Posted September 24, 2021 #6 Share Posted September 24, 2021 We tested yesterday through Covid Clinic in Portland, Oregon. I know they have locations all over the country. We sail on Saturday. I couldn’t find any test availability at any Walgreens near us but this turned out to be a great option. It was a drive-through, and we had results from the rapid antigen test in one hour. They recommended an appointment but there were literally only two people in line when we got there and they did have a no appt line as well. I would Google Covid Clinic and see what you come up with in that area.
