PIANO BAR FUN WITH GILBERT

Gilbert is great!  We had so much fun.  They are only allowed 50% capacity, so it wasnt the typical piano sing alongs.  But that doesn't mean we didnt have an awesome night!

FOOD DELIVERY

I didn't use this service so I can't answer any questions.  As an FYI you can not only have room service delivery, but you can get food delivery to locations s on the ship.  I selected the Piano Bar at midnight and it allowed me to go to select food.  There was a charge for the food $5 each item.

How old is your daughter? I am hiding ducks!

We are really excited.

She's 24.  I'll see if she wants to go duck hunting while on board.  She teaches 2nd grade, maybe if she finds a duck she can use it as a decoration for her desk until she re-hides it on her cruise next year.

I thought Carnival had switched from Coke to Pepsi.

They did switch.  I was on the first cruise in 1/2020 when they did.

They probably haven't updated it on the menu since no one has sailed since 3/20....lol

What are the stops on this Pride sailing and do you have any excursions planned?

Our sailing ports were changed.  We ended up going to Bimini, Half Moon Cay, and Freeport.  We did Beach 360 in Bimin, Cabana in HMC, and Gardens of the Groves Sightseeing & Shopping Tour.

...and we got our dolphin escort out of Bimini too. I was on my balcony in the back and there were a pair of them swimming and jumping out of the water on the port side following us 🙂

What is the seafood corner?

Kind of the Prides version of the Seafood Shack that is on a few other ships, has some of the same offerings...lobster rolls, clam chowder, peel and eat shrimp, crab legs etc.....only available at dinner time in Mermaid Lido...something like 5-10pm....was pretty good!!

Freeport Gardens of the Groves Sightseeing & Shopping Tour

In my opinion, you are better off taking a taxi to the garden and do it yourself.  The garden was really pretty, but the excursion was not worth the money.

4 hour tour.  1 hour guided tour at the garden which was OK.  The woman who guided the tour was personable.  I don't think the information was anything special.  Another 1 hour to do your own thing, but we went  through the whole  gardens already so the only thing left was to shop at their little stores and eat lunch.   The people at the stores were pushy.  Among the typical touristy stuff there was a couple of stores that had unique stuff.  There was one gentleman painter whose paintings were really pretty, but he had a very bad attitude.  If you do go and want to buy something tell him you don't want to and he will bring the price down.

The driver said if we get back on the bus early he would stop at the beach for 10 minutes.  This was supposedly not part of the tour.  Don't get me wrong, the beach was gorgeous.  The issue I had was that there was nobody on the beach except the people pushing tourist trinkets.  Coincidence??  You can make the same inference that I did.  Friends and/or family of the driver??  I don't know.  It just left a bad taste in my mouth since it wasn't part of the tour.

We then spend 45 minutes at Port St. Lucia shopping area.  We were told to get back on the bus at 12.  We were supposed to be back at the port at 12.  He said we were going to arrive back on in Bahama time.  I didn't like that because you expect to be back at the description time unless something unexpected happens.

The drive to and from was nothing special.  It basically was pointing out the buildings and houses.  Since there isn't much to see, it would have been much more entertaining and interesting if some more history or facts about the island would have been talked about.  There was a lot of talk about the port authority and what they allow and don't allow.

I know there were a lot of questions about Bimini.

BIMINI What a beautiful beach.  We took the tram to Beach 360.  The first stop was where you rent the golf carts.  Don't worry about not being able to get one.  There were so many.  The men and woman are there when the tram stops, pushing them on everyone still sitting on the tram.  There are 4 and 6 person carts. 360 was the 2nd stop.  They are very clear with what stops we were at.  When you get off the tram and are looking towards the beach/restaurant, there is an access entrance walkway to the left.   There is a private property sign,  but it leads to the beach.  If you ready have a blue wrist band for the 360 chairs and umbrella, you can head to any open umbrella.  The color of the umbrella doesn't matter.  If you have a blue wrist band and want to use the pool, you can upgrade for $15 at the bar.  You can either get your free drink at the bar, or ask the servers to bring it. You can also purchase the chairs and umbrella at the bar.  I didn't get the prices.  Servers are always coming around, but are not in your face.   They can also bring your lunch order to you.  There is an 18% gratuity automatically added. We gave the gentleman a credit card, so I don't know about cash. The cabanas are lined up in back.  They are not worth the $$$$$.  The sun went right through them, the 2 chairs behind the lounge chairs looked uncomfortable.   The white tent cabanas (don't know what they are called) are at the very far end of the beach.  You will use the third tram stop for them. People weren't exaggerating when it comes to the jelly fish.  They were out in full force.  When we first walked off the gangway, there were a whole lot of pretty fish.   If you look over the edge at the water close to the port, there were a so many jelly fish swarming.  On the beach, they are all over shore and in the water.  I was afraid to go in, but a lot of people were swimming with them. If you just wanted to stop to eat it drink at the bar, there is plenty of seating.  There were comfortable cushioned chairs and tables.

1st photo is us backing into the port.

The white dots in the dark blue part of the 2nd fish photo are all jelly fish.
