Even pre-Covid, it was a concern for pax no matter the cruiseline. While annoying, it is what it is. It was well known on CC that the NCL Jewel was often chartered, so you ran a higher chance of getting bumped if you booked that ship--as we found out for ourselves. It was even modified to accommodate additional performance stages. I believe the HAL Eurodam is often chartered as well. We were able to benefit from Salesforce.com chartering the Celebrity Infinity as a floating hotel in San Francisco to get a good deal on a California coastal cruise in 2015 when Celebrity had to rearrange the ship's itineraries to accommodate the charter. All those 50's and 80's music cruise charters that we haven't seen TV commercials for in the last number of months may also be starting up again in the not too distant future. caz4026 Posted October 17, 2021 #28 Share Posted October 17, 2021 Regal Princess on the 23rd July 2022 14 day cruise for 10 Family members This cancellation has now come after 2 previous cancellations on the Enchanted 2020 and 2021 To charter this ship out for the middle week of the UK school holidays is just diabolical Princess motto of your loyalty matters to us does not ring true once mega bucks are involved Why this charter could not have been done out of the school holidays at the beginning of July or September is beyond reason They are not considering their loyal Family customers whatsoever Have we not had 2 years of complete cancellations due to Covid and were looking forward to some sort of normality with our Families Disgusting Princess in the US obviously your UK market is unimportant. Rare CruzerDeb Posted October 19, 2021 #32 Share Posted October 19, 2021 Wow, I had no idea that something like this could happen. I'm sorry for all who had their cruises canceled. A little too close for comfort - I'm booked on the Regal 7-day on June 18, 2022.
