alaska 2022 included specialty dinner. Reserve now or wait?

Got a special dinner  in our package. If we book now does it get charged to our credit card now?  Once we have used the deal, will they credit our folio as we have paid for it previously?  Associated question .. what nights on Van 7 day trip will be formal? Assume second, but when next?  Thx

I think I was able to reserve our day and time when I went to my booking page and then to dining. It showed that I had a Pinnacle dinner and a Canaletto dinner as comps.

After reviewing my previous When & Where brochures, Glacier Bay was usually the second Gala Night.

If you have a complimentary dine, you can reserve a time without being charged as soon as the Specialty Restaurant reservations are available - 2-4 months before sailing. Be sure to select the names from the drop down list or you will be asked for a credit card to pay. On the HAL Website the number of  commentary dines for each passenger will show on "My Itinerary"
