Specialty Dining Reservations

No shot at you intended in my comment. It just seemed odd that they would give preference to YTD for these specialty restaurants over traditional diners.

 

My only guess is the demand for YTD had surpassed the YTD room capacity, so they are trying to siphon some of those YT diners off to the specialty restaurants. Meanwhile, the traditional dining room had sufficient capacity, so they want to keep those diners in that dining room during prime dinner time.

 

The only problem with that theory is that Carnival certainly had years of data on what percentage of cruisers would choose which dining option long before Mardi Gras was built. So you'd think they'd have known how big to make each dining room.
