On the other hand we have had nothing in writing, saying we will no longer get the premium drinks, and the cruise number hadn't changed. Just phoned Saga (again) to ask why they still haven't refunded our fare for the cancelled Black Sea cruise .FYI they confirmed that the Premium drinks package is still included on this cruise. It applies to a few selected cruises this year but will be standard as from 2023.

Why Saga are waiting till 2023bto make premium drinks standard

As things turned out we still probably meet up on this cruise. We cancelled but then rebooked and are quite happy with our allocated "guarantee" cabin. The overall saving pays for our next 2 cruises. Our pickup is at 10.20 so we are probably in a convoy from the Southwest.

Many thanks for the premium drinks package info Truro001 AND, Hats off to you 🎉 I had wondered if there was a bargain to be picked up when the website started showing "call for prices & availability". Nice work Our pickup is at 11:45 from Axminster so we'll tag on to yours & Windsurfboy's convoy 😂 Edited May 20, 2022 by WeLuv2Holiday Forgot to say thanks to Truro001

We find the garden centre at the top of the hill as you climb out of Honiton is 2hrs 20min from us, a mid way point, that is if driver uses A35. Well done on cancelling and getting guarantee. Truro001 Posted May 20, 2022 #257 Share Posted May 20, 2022 On our last cruise with Saga from Southampton the driver went via the A35 and the return journey was via the A303. Not much difference in the route mileage wise so it is a case of where the traffic is lightest. Thanks for the tip. I think we stopped closer to Southampton simply because we wanted to allow plenty of time for the pre boarding Covid checks. As it turned out, we were actually on board within an hour of arriving at the port. We cancelled the Black Sea cruise with a heavy heart but felt that the new itinerary didn’t justify the premium price we had paid. A few days after cancelling we saw the new pricing structure and felt that it was too good an opportunity to miss. The saving paid for our forthcoming cruise to Iceland in August and our cruise to France / Spain in September. As you quite rightly said a few weeks ago - there are no bad cabins on the Spirit of Adventure and as there seemed to be about 180 empty cabins we thought it highly unlikely that we would be disappointed. We weren’t !
