bhopal21 Posted February 20, 2006 #4 Share Posted February 20, 2006 I usually take one of those gas powered "tailgater" blenders; as electrical outlets are in short supply. Mike;)
nancyfancy40 Posted February 20, 2006 #5 Share Posted February 20, 2006 Tailgate party? GEEZ I wasn't told about this. I will bring my fold down tailgate barbecue to the balcony, the blender for drinks, the fan to cool everyone down and the sun lamp to keep everyone tan. crowleychick Posted February 20, 2006 #7 Share Posted February 20, 2006 We brought a small fan last week that made all the difference in the world. Gave it to our steward afterward and he was tickled to death.
Casshew Posted February 20, 2006 #8 Share Posted February 20, 2006 he was tickled to death. Maybe he was just being polite. :D
geejay Posted February 20, 2006 #9 Share Posted February 20, 2006 I love my coffee and always take a coffee pot. I think many people do. Guess a blender wouldn't be much different! Take whatever you want -- and don't let the sarcastic replies get to you. :D

jlp20 Posted February 20, 2006 #11 Share Posted February 20, 2006 Why not, remember those large piles of whole fruit up on Lido that disappear, you think people are eating all that. Or is all that overripe stuff just being tossed. But then you get to clean that big machine in that little bathroom sink.
Lynda90 Posted February 20, 2006 #12 Share Posted February 20, 2006 Don't laugh about taking along a small fan. It can be a lifesaver on a hot, sunny day when the air conditioner seems minimal. I have a very small, powerful one that I take with me on all trips, not just cruises.
Ethel5 Posted February 20, 2006 #13 Share Posted February 20, 2006 You can take whatever pleases you. Just remember the weight limits on luggage when flying. Do you want to take a heavy blender instead of clothing?
spongerob Posted February 20, 2006 #14 Share Posted February 20, 2006 Good point, Donna. Besides, a martini shaker is so much easier to pack. :D But I've seen people bring blenders! I think that's why Princess cut off the fruit juice during the day. I'm sure if you tipped a bartender who wasn't too busy, one could whip up a smoothie for you. Casshew Posted February 20, 2006 #15 Share Posted February 20, 2006 I'm so full from all the food on a cruise there is no room for smoothies~
LICRUISER2GO Posted February 20, 2006 Author #16 Share Posted February 20, 2006 well I do appreciate everyone's candor...I think I may bring our bullet blender,it only takes up the space of a mug and has small clear plastic drinking mugs....if by chance it doesn't fit in our luggage, I'll just take out a few pairs of my wife's shoes:p....she'll get over it-while sipping strawberry banana daiquris on our balcony--- without her shoes LOL:D
Douglase Posted February 20, 2006 #17 Share Posted February 20, 2006 Don't forget to bring the cooler to keep the ice cream frozen. Small fans are great as the air conditioner doesn't keep it too cool.
p2lockhart Posted February 20, 2006 #18 Share Posted February 20, 2006 I bring an inexpensive light weight plastic blender that I purchased from Wal-Mart for about $15 and my martini shaker. I also bring juices, too. I really do not like mixes normally used in bars so I much prefer my own drinks. We usually end up having our friends over for "happy hour" every afternoon. I am considering bringing my French press to make my own coffee, after reading about the liquid coffee syrup used on the Grand. I guess I am just finicky. I don't want to drink what to me are inferior drinks when I am on vacation. I like the best, even if it means I have to go to the trouble of making it myself. Different strokes for different folks. Who cares what anyone else thinks or says! Go for it.
