Markanddonna Posted December 16, 2021 #1 Share Posted December 16, 2021 I saw this on Facebook. It appears the Italians are not allowed on Caribbean cruises from mid Dec to the end of Jan. Here is the translation Translation from Google Translate... Urgent notice for customers booked on MSC Divina, MSC Meraviglia, MSC Seashore and MSC Seaview with cruises departing from December 16, 2021 to January 31, 2022 Dear Customer, thank you for having chosen MSC Cruises, we would like to update you on cruises in the Caribbean and Antilles booked on board our ships, in light of the ordinance signed yesterday by the Minister of Health Roberto Speranza on the restrictive measures relating to travel abroad envisaged until January 31, 2022. Although it is possible to reach our ships departing from Florida and St. Maarten from Italy, some of the destinations of our itineraries in the Caribbean and the Antilles are not open to Italian tourists, as the tourist corridors that were being studied with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Sustainable Mobility have no longer been defined due to the increase in cases in the affected territories. We are consequently forced to cancel the reservations of Italian passengers on board our ships in the Caribbean and the Antilles (MSC Divina, MSC Meraviglia, MSC Seashore and MSC Seaview) departing from 16 December 2021 to 31 January 2022 for all guests coming from Italy. MSC Cruises will offer all involved guests a "Future Cruise Voucher" equal to the value of the package MSC cruise booked and paid for, plus a refundable onboard credit of Euro 200 per cabin (Euro 100 in case of single cabin). This voucher will be valid for 24 months from the date of issue and can be used on any future cruise. The credit on board can be used on a single booking, it has no cash value, it is not transferable and cannot be combined with any other credits deriving from previous vouchers and already recognized on the original booking. Alternatively, if you prefer, you can cancel your reservation without any penalty renouncing the Future Cruise Voucher and related benefits. Any prepaid packages (drinks, excursions, etc.), purchased independently through MY MSC AREA with your own credit card, will be automatically reimbursed; this refund may be subject to some delays due to extraordinary circumstances resulting from COVID-19. For any other expenses incurred, such as flights (if not booked through MSC Cruises), hotels, transport, etc., you can refer to your travel agency or directly to the airline. In the light of this communication, please inform us promptly about your choice by writing to our Reservations Office at: reservationonline@msccrociere.it. Thanking you for choosing us, we are confident that we will soon be able to have our guests on board to make their cruise an amazing vacation experience Best regards Leonardo Massa - Managing Director MSC Cruises
Rare styles27 Posted December 16, 2021 #2 Share Posted December 16, 2021 I wonder how long before other European countries will face the same restrictions. Alternately our DOH director in a news conference yesterday said the cdc is considering changing the terms of being “fully vaccinated” to include a booster. So this could throw another wrench in the mix for a lot of folks who haven’t received the booster.

Phizer says to wait 6 months before getting a booster.

Phizer says to wait 6 months before getting a booster. We had the J&J vaccine in March and Pfizer booster in October. There’s only a 2 month waiting period for a booster with the J&J vaccine. I feel at this point those that are not vaccinated yet (and are eligible for vaccination) are probably not going to ever get vaccinated. At least in the states it seems that way. We have plenty of vaccine so that’s not the reason for so many not being vaccinated. To each his own but it impacts everyone unfortunately.
