Future Cruise Credit Cash Refund?

Long story short - has anyone been able to collect a refund on a refunded Future Cruise Credit Certificate?

 

Now the long story - 

My original cruise was to be October 2020 which was cancelled thanks to Coronavirus.

I took the 125% Future Cruise Credit Certificate and rebooked for October 2021.

Due to a major illness (NOT Covid) I had to cancel about ten days prior to the cruise.

I could not make an insurance claim because Windstar offered the return of our funds in the form of a Future Cruise Credit Certificate.

I finally got said certificate yesterday and it is good for two years - from ORIGINAL issue date of October 8, 2020.

I was so disappointed in the use-by date and was getting ready to call for an extension (because we are completely booked for four trips in 2022) when I saw that I could request a cash refund for the original amount I actually paid, which I did right away.

 

Long story short - has anyone been able to collect a refund on a refunded Future Cruise Credit Certificate?
