lkj1301 Posted December 24, 2021 #1 Share Posted December 24, 2021 We will be on the Silhouette in Feb, was wondering if anyone has done any snorkeling and either country. We were wondering if the volcanic eruptions in St. Vincent back in April has disrupted underwater life and made things hazy. Appreciate any input. s0479 Posted December 24, 2021 #2 Share Posted December 24, 2021 We snorkeled in Barbados and it was great. They took us to an area with turtles and ten to a small ship wreck. This was last month.
RedneckBob Posted December 24, 2021 #3 Share Posted December 24, 2021 (edited) If you are an excellent snorkeler and not afraid of a long swim, you can snorkel from the beach, Harbor Lights / Carlisle Beach to the ship wreck and also see turtles. Just keep a look out for water crafts in the area such as tour boats. Last time a ten dollar taxi ride to beach one way. lkj1301 Posted December 24, 2021 Author #4 Share Posted December 24, 2021 Thank you both very much. Was afraid the waters would be stirred up from the eruptions.

Rare Stealthdog Posted December 24, 2021 #7 Share Posted December 24, 2021 (edited) We have also snorkled in Barabados - did it with the ship. Swimming with the sea turtles is alot of fun. Was several years ago though. Edited December 24, 2021 by Stealthdog
Rare jean87510 Posted January 8, 2022 #8 Share Posted January 8, 2022 We were just in St. Vincent snorkeling. We did the kayak/snorkeling tour via RCCL. Absolutely no issues with haziness. We also were at Harbor Lights last Sunday (we were on the grandeur that left out of Barbados) and walked down the beach and swam out to the turtles and the ship wreck. I am a 57 yr old female but a strong swimmer and I have participated in triathlons so this wasn't an issue for me. Unfortunately we never made it to St. Lucia.
