Live from Odyssey - no St Thomas or San Juan

Let off sick crew twice. St Thomas denied us (saw a Celebrity heading to dock). San Juan cancelled tomorrow.  Heading to Puerto Plata DR instead. Have not heard about Nassau Sat. No passengers positive. Only crew. Still having great time.

I suspect it has to do with keeping the positivity rate on the cruise below the 1% threshold that many of the islands seem to be using to determine if they'll allow the ship to dock.

The amount of sick crew also affects the CDC’s color rating of the ship.

All of revenue sailing ships (except Enchantment) are yellow ( a couple were orange before) - not sure there's much diff in numbers once they get to yellow. I assume there's quite some delay in reporting as neither Rhapsody nor Vision (which supposedly took on positive cases from other ships) have changed from green.

The thresholds for a ship to be yellow are also quite low.  One or more crew cases reported is enough.  Here is an excerpt from the CDC website.

Thanks, I just assumed they would quarantine them on the ship... They keep going on about how good the filtration is.

 

I suspect it's more likely to keep the rate below 1% as per CDC guidelines.
