This prediction was probably made by the same person who, in the spring of 2020, said it was only going to last a month or two as people were blowing it all of proportion.

Part of why Omicron is spreading so wildly - is because they've found that it more easily gets through cloth masks.  We had been using those blue surgical-style masks all along.  Yet we got breakthrough Covid (likely Omicron) right after Christmas (nice gift from my brother, who was sick and didn't get tested). We're both fully vaccinated and boosted (Pfizer) - but that vaccine doesn't protect as well from getting Omicron.  It just made our symptoms milder (like a bad cold).

 

We likely have good protection now for 3 months - at least through the end of March.  We cruise March 6th - so we are no longer thinking of cancelling.  We tested negative on a Rapid antigen test last weekend. We'll get that type of test 2 days prior to our cruise - as I know we can test positive on a PCR test for up to 3 months after having Covid.

At a national, or your state’s level?  Really hope it’s true at the national level 🙂
