weltek Posted January 18, 2022 #1 Share Posted January 18, 2022 On the newer ships do the tvs have an empty HDMI port? Curious if our Screenbeam will plug into the tv. Some nights I just need a break and I do love the comfort of those stateroom sheets, the sound of the waves and perfect room temps! Would be nice to have more than the limited content they have available.
Rare shof515 Posted January 18, 2022 #2 Share Posted January 18, 2022 changing the input on the tv to hdmi might be a challenge. it is doable
HugeMuscleGeek Posted January 19, 2022 #3 Share Posted January 19, 2022 Buy a cheap universal tv remote and bring it with you to get the ability to switch inputs. That’s what we did with the Samsung TV sets on the Epuc
Rare mking8288 Posted January 19, 2022 #4 Share Posted January 19, 2022 It depends, Harmony / universal remote said to work with Samsung, as noted. Breakaway, Escape and I believe the Getaway typically use "Sole" HDTV (hospitality brand) and interactive signal is carried over HDMI, disconnect it and plug in directly is the easiest (laptop & Chromebook). Old/some ships post drydock were upgraded to LG brand TV using locking RG59 cable for interactive signal, HDMI port firmware locked, that's likely a "no-can't-do" but you can try.
