RSLeesburg Posted January 21, 2022 #1 Share Posted January 21, 2022 We are scheduled to cruise on Anthem this summer from Southampton to Norway, and trying to figure out what is required both to enter UK (which I think we know and found a great site that we can check to see if things change), but have not really explored what is required by RCI that may be in addition to UK requirements. Curious if anyone has traveled over to UK and sailed on RCI, and could give us any tips. Thanks.
swoopy2110 Posted January 21, 2022 #2 Share Posted January 21, 2022 Rci have not yet released protocols or requirements for Europe 2022 sailings yet. Watch this space 🙂
cublet Posted January 21, 2022 #3 Share Posted January 21, 2022 Hello, I don't know if our domestic party politics have made it across the pond but, as a smokescreen to the current hiatus some are saying, a government announcement on ENGLISH protocols is expected next week. But even if they are, there're still another four months before RCI starts, or is due to start, cruising out of Southampton and anything could happen before then. Regards, Cublet
gumshoe958 Posted January 21, 2022 #4 Share Posted January 21, 2022 As of now, the only requirement to enter England (assuming you’re fully vaccinated) is to get tested after you arrive. But that requirement is likely to be removed in the next few weeks. Of course Norway and any other countries you stop in will have their own protocols. And Royal will have their own too. But they’re pretty good at spelling out exactly what you’ll need. For Anthem’s sailings from Southampton in 2021 you needed a PCR test up to two days before sailing. Royal paid for that, and either arranged it for you or reimbursed you if you sorted it yourself. Whether that’ll be the case this year, we’ll have to wait and see. I will need to check our travel schedule. We planned for a few days to be in London to take the 2d test required by UK, but not sure if that will be 2 days before we sail. Obviously everything is subject to change but planning for what is needed today is a good place to start.
