Spiffy Glory

The Glory spent two weeks in wet dock a few weeks back. We went on her second sailing since wet dock departing February 13th and I was curious to see what they did.

One change was to take out the seating along the starboard side of the promenade through the casino for the section in the casino. They put slot machines in that area. I don't know if they actually increased the number of machines in the casino though. They have put more space between banks of machines making a more open feel to the place. We like the change.

They seem to have also replaced most of the carpet and ceiling panels in the public areas and much of the public area wall coverings. The "pillars" in the casino are even new. They were still working on replacing some of the carpet on the stairs on our cruise. The style is still the classic Carnival garish we have come to love, though toned down just a bit.

We were amazed at how much was done in such a short time. It is nice to see them keeping up the ship.

I have seen some say that they have replaced the lights next to the beds with ones with usb ports, did you happen to notice?

When we sailed in December our room did not have the USB ports in the lamps. When we sailed in January one lamp in our room (same room as December) had USB ports and one didn't. On the February cruise (room next to our previous room) both lamps had USP ports. So I think that conversion is an ongoing (perhaps finished by now) thing.
