trtog7 Posted February 22, 2022 #1 Share Posted February 22, 2022 Probably a very silly question but will ask it anyway Need rapid Antigen test to cross border but PCR test to board ship. One is 1 day previous and other 3 days previous. If you could get a PCR test 1 day ahead, would the border crossing accept it instead of the Antigen test or would you need to get 2 tests? Luv2Cruze4 Posted February 22, 2022 #2 Share Posted February 22, 2022 Rapid antigen is accepted for Carnival cruises. That is what we have booked at Shoppers Drug Mart the day prior.
Rare DHP1 Posted February 22, 2022 #3 Share Posted February 22, 2022 Princess Cruise:- Guests must provide proof at terminal check-in of a negative viral COVID-19 test (PCR or antigen) taken within two days of their embarkation.

Not a silly question, so many hoops to jump through! If the cruise line requires a PCR test, you can use the PCR test for both the border and to board the ship, as long as both the border and ship timelines are met. The border needs the test to be within 1 day/or 24 hours. I' m guessing 3 days for the ship? Problem is PCR usually take at least 1-2 days, unless you arrange a rapid PCR, but they are costly. Are you crossing a land border or are you flying? Land borders do not require testing for entry to the US.

Need Antigen to get to Miami and then just Antigen to return home which I think Azamara will do
Fouremco Posted February 22, 2022 #7 Share Posted February 22, 2022 (edited) As you are flying, either a negative antigen or PCR test taken no more than 1 day before will suffice. But as Azamara requires a PCR test, get that in Canada the day before your flight and it will still be valid for embarkation. As for return home, who knows what the requirements will be by then.
