Trieste port auto rental

Looking for auto rental in Trieste. The only one I found is closed on Sunday, Hertz. Which makes me go to the airport, 40 minutes away. Anyone know of another solution? Doesn't seem sensible that a rental co. would close on the day cruise ships come in.

Believe it or not, businesses in Italy don't necessarily open just because they could make more money.  Sunday closure rises almost to the level of culture.

 

That said, Trieste is very new as a cruise port and one of the rental agencies may decide to open on Sundays if there is enough demand.

TRUE. After thinking about this, I realized cruises have really been non existent for a long while. I would have to assume that they will open up after the cruises start rolling again. 

I certainly understand the cultural attitude as well.
