rosejazz Posted February 24, 2022 #1 Share Posted February 24, 2022 We are sailing on Saturday (2/26) and took our PCR tests yesterday (waiting for the results!) and SD just called to notify us that they JUST (within the hour) changed their policy. A COVID PCR test taken 3-days before boarding is no longer Required (it is recommend as an option). Just checked the website and it is there in black and white. They will still be doing Rapid tests before you are allowed to embark. Just sharing the news. 🙂
Jim Avery Posted February 25, 2022 #2 Share Posted February 25, 2022 That's great news! Now if they would just position one of the ships in the Sea of Cortez so we would not need to fly.......🍸
BeignetBoy Posted February 25, 2022 #3 Share Posted February 25, 2022 Yep... Good news. I noticed this yesterday as I was trying to locate a PCR testing site in San Juan. Now, not required.
TrapperZimmy Posted February 25, 2022 #4 Share Posted February 25, 2022 Was the 3-day before test a SeaDream requirement? When we sailed out of STT on the New Year's cruise, we had to download our vaccination cards to the ship, but the only test we took for SD was the one we did on the dock. We did, however, have to download a negative PCR test to the St Thomas travel portal no more than 5 days prior to arrival. We were checked for the portal clearance by National Guard at the STT airport before we were admitted to the terminal. What are the current entry requirements for the islands from which SD sails? rosejazz Posted February 26, 2022 Author #5 Share Posted February 26, 2022 TrapperZimmy — requirements change frequently and with the omicron surge they were requiring a PCR test three days prior to boarding and a rapid test in order to embark. This PCR test has now been made optional. If you go to the sea dream website you can follow the links to the countries / ports and see the requirements for each. JES4845 Posted February 28, 2022 #6 Share Posted February 28, 2022 SD had again made it an SD requirement regardless of local rules at the beginning of January as I recall - glad to hear they eased up on it - one less step to board and get up to the TOY Bar for a sail away adult beverage …
