For those of you that have recently flown on the Air France flight from LAX to PPT that arrives about 6:30 in the morning. How long did it take you to get luggage clear Customs get your nose swab Etc before you were ready to catch a taxi?

Not AF but ATN....someone on the Windstar board recently shared that it was customs, luggage, testing in 45min to taxi. Seems extraordinarily fast but may be a reflection of the flights not being full. Probably our position on the flight but in ordinary busy times, there's a line at customs and seems to take 45 min for everything minus testing.

USNA,

The two factors that will influence you clearance time are:

1) Is there another international flight arriving right before your Air France flight? (Send me the date and I would be happy to look it up for you.)

2) How close are your seats to the exit(s).

On my Feb 12 ATN flight, we were the only international flight arrival at that time and we were seated in business class, which meant we were amongst the first off the plane. (Premium economy was next).

As a result, we sailed through very fast. See post here:

In contrast, our 2015 arrival took almost 2 hours to get out of the airport. We were seated over the wing (middle of the aircraft). The plane was an A340 (no longer used) and Air Tahiti used boarding stairways at the very front and very back doors of the aircraft. Since we we in the middle, we were the last off.

I do not know what door locations Air France uses.

Is the nose swab still required?

I would say yes, based on the "Protocol for entry and stay..." document
