Carnival Magic 8 Day Cruise Review with Photos February 26, 2022-March 6, 2022

The next day was Aruba, but we didn't dock until 1 p.m. Hubby played Bingo, but there was a glitch and "Bingo Betty" went down. Cheeky Charlie (really fun Fun Squad member) was super apologetic and gave everyone a free Bingo card to use at the next game. I walked around Deck 5, but unfortunately part of it was cordoned off so I couldn't walk all the way around. Not sure if it was due to the wind or not.

We were off the ship and found our tour guide, Benjamin by 1:45 p.m. We had booked a private van tour through Viator. It was a large van as we had booked it back when we thought my sister and her family were coming. We saw the 600 steps, Casibari Rock Formation, bought aloe at the Aloe Factory and saw the California Lighthouse.

We had rented a giant 12 person van in anticipation of having my sister and her family there so that is the transportation we used to get to Port Canaveral. It was with Budget so it was very close to the port. Budget really needs to invest in some signage or something because there were people everywhere with no rhyme or reason. We finally figured out the cluster of people that were waiting to go TO the port and waited for the free shuttle van. We were impatient and almost gave up and called an Uber, but just after I ran out of the bathroom the correct shuttle van for the Magic arrived.

My parents, hubby and I got to the terminal around 10:15 a.m. or so and they allowed us all to check in, but hubby and I were allowed to board right away since we are Platinum and in the A group for boarding. We literally barely sat down to wait and they called our group.

Hubby and I ate lunch and dozed on Serenity. New muster was super easy. We met in the main theater where they scanned our S&S card and gave us a demo on how to put on a life jacket. Done! You can go anytime you want before sailaway.

Ahhh, Serenity!

They never checked for arrival appointments.  When I got there about 10:45 am, the lines were long and they let everyone in.  Walked straight thru to the ship since they weren't checking Boarding Groups.

Side note: Our room steward was Margarette. We liked her. We passed her in the hallway a lot and she was always asking if we needed anything. She also told me how young I looked. When I told her I was 40 she was shocked! She also complimented me on a dress one night that had navy blue and hot pink on it. Flattery will get you everywhere! Lol!

Another side note. We had balcony room 7209. I would not recommend this room as the bridge is right above which made the view slightly obstructed if you wanted to look up to the sky. See photo below:

That's funny.  I was in 7203 with Margarette also.  Seems like someone in the Bridge liked to move around furniture about 3 am.

There was absolutely no communications (announcements or in print) and crew members were still handing out masks on Lido after March 1.

There were frequent announcements in both casinos which everyone ignored after 3/1.  When asked, GS said that there were people on board who booked that cruise expecting that masks would be required but when the response was that more booked the cruise hoping that mask theater would be ended, they had no answer, just shrugged.

Thanks for sharing, great review. It seems many of your photos are not loading properly for some reason.

Same here. Your photos hosted by Google aren't visible to us -- you (lovestocruise19) may need to enable sharing of them. It's possible that they're visible to you as the owner, but they don't appear for us folks reading your review -- only the Facebook-hosted photos are visible to us.

Darn it! I will have to figure out how to enable sharing or just use FB. It's just with all my other reviews my pictures have always disappeared after awhile because I used pictures from FB I think.

I'm going to try using photos from FB now. Hopefully those will show up better for most people.

I read on my balcony and watched the 11 p.m. sailaway from there. I saw shadows of people walking on the bridge where the little "parallel parking" window is. I also saw them shine a spotlight on the water and then the pilot boat came alongside. A crew member must have been hopping back onto the ship

We arrived in Bonaire and hubby and I got off the ship to our reserved golf cart with Bonaire Cruisers. We drove along the south side of the island. The map they gave us was awful, so I was glad I had thought ahead and downloaded a Bonaire Google map to use offline. It didn't really talk to us to tell us to go the direction we wanted, but it really helped me to navigate the couple of turns to make it back to Bonaire Cruisers once we got back to town since I could pinch and zoom and turn my phone to position the map. The southern route itself wasn't too difficult since it was just one main road. I only missed one little turn and hubby easily turned the cart around.

We saw salt pyramids, pink water, slave huts, a lighthouse, flamingos, donkeys, kite surfers and wind surfers. I went to the bathroom at the Hang Out Beach Bar where the windsurfers were. When we got back to the port, we bought a couple of shirts, a magnet and salt (because, Bonaire!).

We were greeted by a rainbow!

Back in the room I found hubby napping. I took a shower. We all ate in the MDR. After eating the couples separately went to the Country Road show. The male lead singer was awful! Lol. The females were better.

Surprisingly delicious cauliflower bites:

That sounds about right. Ultimately, using them as your photo host, you're at their whim as to when they might change the naming convention or location of the images which will likely eventually cause them to break (vanish) at some point in the future.

That said, the pictures in your newest posts are visible now and look great. That Oreo cheesecake and the key lime pie look amazing!

I was on this cruise with you as well so really enjoying your photos .. I was also on that flight landing at 10:20 coming in from Manchester N.H. very stressful wondering if we were going to get out as all flights from Boston and Manchester were canceled except that one .but first  had many attempts at deicing the plane .looking forward to the rest of your review
