Just letting you know that I too sent an e-mail to Valor casino host last week after reading this topic. I did hear back from her today and all she said was to come see her about 1 pm at embarkation if we are there or else that night. I then, today, sent an e-mail to OPC. I will let you know if and/or when I hear from them.

I take a 1000 each for my hubby and I but last year all I did was win at Blackjack so I am definitely interested in what happens. I also let them know that we are celebrating our 10 year anniversary and that we are sailing the same ship as last year.

I emailed the host on the Pride 2 weeks before our cruise last week. A few days later, we got a pretty in depth email back on what to expect in the line of games in the casino and wishing us luck etc.. Didn't get any "extras" but she did transfer our balance from last year on the Paradise to this cruise which made it real easy to hit the 1000 points to get 10 bucks back. Tajtiana (I probably just butchered her name), the casino host, said that because of the instant cash back, that points expire when you leave the ship now.

I really like that if you have a decent # of coins in a machine that you can credit it to your S&S card now rather than cash out and risk having to wait for an attendant to come fill the machine. You can take your card to the cash cage at any time and redeem the cash. If you have cash left and forget to get it off, you will recieve a check in the mail. To bad they dont just subtract it from the S&S balance.

I wrote to the casino host on the Elation for our april trip, she wrote back the next day letting me know i'll be getting the bon voyage decorations and also something for my 2 teenage kids. Can't wait to see what I get! Hope we get all that stuff everyone else seems to be getting. Love to get some drink coupons and that fruit basket w/ bottle of wine. Thank you to everyone that mentioned this great perk, I would have never known about this.

This has been a most informative thread! I hope it stays alive so we can see what happens on different ships.

I'll be on the Sensation next month, and I have my OPC letter. I believe I will e-mail the Casino Host, but do you think I should wait until the ship is back in service? Can you tell I am anxious - lol?

When I cruised RCCL in 2004 I won 3 jackpots, and 2 of them were over $1200. I didn't get a W-2 on board, or even later. Do you think they screwed up or has the law changed? Boy it was fun to pay off our on board account and walk off the ship with cash in hand! DH hasn't complained about me going to the casino since :D

They don't have to decorate my cabin, I would be delighted with a fistful of non-blank W2-G forms. :D

Be sure to ask the casino host for a win-loss statement. The casino host can pull your records and email that to you the day after you debark.

You may be able to offset some of those W2-Gs with the actual count of what coins went in the machines and what coins came out.

I have emailed both the Casino Host (Liberty) and the Ocean Players Club and have not received a response for either one. I cruise on the 9th of April. But from what I have read on this post, it seems the Liberty host does not respond until after the cruise. I will let you know what happens after the cruise. 25 more days!!!:D

Is there a phone number to call to check on the Ocean Players Club, I have to use my computer at work and it has the site filtered out. I have one of those letter I got on 2004, hoping I can find my letter !!! Mine had like $40+ available. I was on the Conquest, so hopefully its in the computer and I won't need the letter, would love to know that I won't have to tear down the house, already have to move in about 2 months !!!!

My 2004 OPC letter says "From time to time OPC members will be eligible for exclusive deals and discounts. To discover what deals might be available contact your TA or the OPC Trave Desk @ 866 PLAY OPC." It also has 1-800-253-2773 at the bottom of the letterhead.

Hope this helps.

If I'm that lucky! I was trying to say I'd be happy being a big winner instead of a doner. :(

So far I'm ahead in 2006 - hopefully the streak will continue. :)

I filled out the paper work for the ocean club on my last cruise but never recieved anything saying I was a member. How can I find out if they have me registered leaving on destiny 8/13/06.

I joined the OPC online quite a while ago then I signed up again in Mar. 2005, Nov. 2005, Dec. 2005 and Jan. 2006. I haven't yet received ANY correspondence from them, although I got a few nice perks from the Triumph and some free drinks from the Ryndam.

It should be in their database. I've sailed twice without the letter and have asked the casnio host to look it up. Sure enough, they had record of the cash back amount I had earned. The first time I earned the points in January 2004 on the Jubilee and cashed them in May 2004 on the QM2. The second time I earned the points in October 2004 on the Destiny and cashed them in May 2005 on the Tahitian Princess. This past September on the Glory, I received the cash back before I left the Glory. So if non-Carnival OPC member lines can look up the cash back amount, then Carnival should definitely be able to do so. If you find a contact #, you may want to call them to verify your cash back amount, just so there are no surprises once you are onboard the ship.

I sail the same day and e-mailed both OPC and the Miracle host. I got a response from OPC letting me know that I was already on the new system and that my points are auto transferred, but nothing about any "gifts." How about you, heard anything yet?? I sail the same day as you.

I am on the Miracle 4/23 sailing and contacted both the casino host and OPC & did hear back from them saying they would look for me and to let me know he would forward my note to the new casino director because he was leaving the ship on 4/22

Question for you seasoned cruisers - do you have to use your S&S card to accrue points? For example when my fiance plays Roulette (in Vegas or Windsor) he tosses down his Players Card and a couple $100 bills to start play.

Since the cruise we are going on is May 13 (for our honeymoon) I would like him to keep his gambling money separate from our S&S card.

Do you still accrue points with using your OPC and cash? Please advise.

Thanks!

:D I am really happy I found this thread! I went straight to the OPC site and sent and email to Claudia, the casino host on the Triumph (I hope she is still there!) and to the OPC. I would have never known you could do this had I not read all of your posts! Thanks to all of you CC's out there who keep us "newbies to this site" informed. I wish I would have known about this site when I first started cruisin.;) Now I know where to get the scoop!

Looking forward to being on the Triumph again in May. We sailed on her for New Years and it was a blast. The slot machines were good to us and I came home with cash and a nice piece of jewerly!

Good luck to all you slot players. It is fun to find so many people that have the same interests as I do. A group of us go to Vegas every year - but in my book a cruise is much better. You get the best of both worlds!:) Maybe some day I can talk all of my Vegas friends into becoming Cruise friends too!

I can't speak about the table games, but with the slots you will need to put in your S&S card so that they can keep up with your points.

As for keeping the money separate, just use cash to gamble!

Best wishes on your upcoming wedding!
