brilliantseas Posted March 25, 2022 Author #76 Share Posted March 25, 2022 I had the new Pearl Island Beach Day with Lunch excursion booked today, but after getting a little too much sun yesterday and not feeling the greatest after breakfast this morning, I decided to sit this one out and spend the day on the ship. I ended up having a great day. I spent about two hours on the Serenity Deck (while attempting to stay protected from the sun) and got some reading in. The Food and Drink Trivia, hosted by Ramon aka "Noodles" was difficult. Myself and three other teams tied with 8/20 each. I lost the tiebreaker about the number of types of beer that are recognized by the World Brewers Association. Hint. It's not a small number! The winning team guessed 12 and the actual answer was 132. I did better on Carnival 50th Trivia, scoring 10/20, which was good enough for second.
brilliantseas Posted March 25, 2022 Author #77 Share Posted March 25, 2022 Not exactly crowded this afternoon... Mostly sunny, with air temps in the low 80s. This is the first time in two cruises I've seen the dome open. I was beginning to wonder if it was stuck, but it does indeed open when the weather warrants. Sadly, we'll be headed back to a very chilly Baltimore on Sunday, and the dome will once again be closed.

brilliantseas Posted March 25, 2022 Author #82 Share Posted March 25, 2022 NCL Getaway was docked next to us, and was one of five cruise ships in Nassau today. The others were NCL Sky, Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady, and RCCL Anthem of the Seas, and of course Carnival Legend.

brilliantseas Posted March 25, 2022 Author #84 Share Posted March 25, 2022 This cargo ship arrived while we were in port. It looked like it was going to run aground with the wind near the lighthouse. Two tugs had their work cut out for them pushing this ship to the center of the channel.
brilliantseas Posted March 25, 2022 Author #85 Share Posted March 25, 2022 Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady I would be willing to give it a try, but why is it so expensive, and why is it seemingly lacking in entertainment?

We had great weather as well last cruise and they didn't seem to budge it at all, just left the one section open that I'm told is due to the smoke from Guy's. It is still open this evening, but I am guessing that it will be closed for our last sea day tomorrow as the temperature already seems to be dropping. I wish I could book the B2B for next week! brilliantseas Posted March 25, 2022 Author #96 Share Posted March 25, 2022 One of the best aspects of sailing the Spirit class ships is that they almost never feel crowded. We are sailing with 2,141 passengers, or 101% of lower berth capacity, yet there is plenty of space for everyone. These photos were taken after sailing from Freeport.
