When do you find out your embarkation time?

We are cruising out of Vancouver on May 23… wondering when we will know what time we will be allowed to get on the ship?  I would like to prebook our rapid PCR COVID test appointments now, in case there is a rise in cases and it gets hard to find appointments in May… but since we are staying in Vancouver for 2 nights before the cruise, it will be close to the 72 hour window…so I don’t want to schedule it too early on the day before we leave home.  What is the current procedure for how the embarkation times are assigned and how far ahead is that decided?  Thanks!

For the most part anyone can board the ship at 11:00 AM.  Access to your cabin will depend on your cabin category.  Generally all cabins are accessible by 3:00 PM.  Things may be different now (post-covid).  Someone who has sailed recently can probably address the particulars.

It's still 11 am or after.  Before, during and now that Covid is letting up.  Only thing that may change is if Viking still requires you to take a PCR test when you board and whether or not you are quarantined to your room until results come back negative.  What is happening right now can change by then.

Guest statement does not reflect actual conditions. We boarded the Sea in SJ on Mar. 21. Our statement said room available (PV) at 1 pm. We called the ship from home on the 18th (# listed on guest statement) and they said we would test on boarding but did not have to quarantine— boarding was from 10:30 am. In wandering around SJ on Sunday eve, we happened on a Viking coordinator in the Sheraton where early air arrivals would wait and she confirmed boarding from 10:30.

BTW, when no quarantine, you don’t get an   “all clear”—no news is good news.
