Are guests on Silhouette routinely checked for COVID -19 by the medical staff -  or do they bring their own lateral flow test onboard with them to keep testing themselves and then report a positive test ?

No checking on our 30/07/22 cruise on Silhouette.

About 6 weeks before we sailed, a large number of cabins on Deck 6 were offered at a reduced price. In fact I claimed ‘Best price Guarantee’ and we had a reduction of$1110.

The ship was 93% full. Masks were not insisted on in the theatre.

We are on Silhouette right now on the cruise following yours @dateacher and I am in quarantine day 3. The doc did tell me there were a number of cases on the previous cruise but on ours the cases were very low.

I have been allowed to stay in our room with my husband who has remained Symptom free. He has been allowed out but has to be masked and has avoided the shows and lifts. Luckily we have a suite so it’s not been too bad. I think it’s very irresponsible for people not to get tested even though they are ill. To be honest I wouldn’t have left the room anyway as I felt far too unwell. We get into Southampton tomorrow just in time for me to be feeling better😀. The staff on Celebrity have been absolutely amazing, checking up on me several times a day, bringing me whatever I wanted to eat and generally doing whatever they could to help. Because I reported it, we will get a refund for the last 3 days of the cruise which is pretty fair I think. As for the number of Covid cases onboard right now I think it’s pretty low. The staff seem to be forever cleaning and the level of hygiene overall seems to be high. The main issue I expect is those that wander about coughing away spreading the virus and not reporting it. I suppose they have just had mild cases. Overall, we think Celebrity have been brilliant and although it’s our first cruise with them, it won’t be our last. I just hope that next time I have more than 4 walls to stare at for most of the time!!
